The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining processes which facilitate the data integration and migration of transactional and master data between local SQL Server databases and other enterprise systems.
Data integration will require development of both near real-time and nightly batch ETL jobs from disparate systems including Salesforce.com, JDE E1, SQL Server, flat files and XML and will involve communication and coordination between internal and external technical teams.
The developer will be involved in the creation of reports to aid in the monitoring and troubleshooting of the data integration processes and will be expected to take a proactive approach to utilizing these reports to monitor the Production environment.
Understand integration environment, relationship between systems and the flow of data throughout the organization
Create SQL Stored procedures, functions, views and other required SQL objects to support data integration and reporting
Create and manage reports in Report Manager and through Subscriptions
Create and manage SQL Integration Services packages to support ETL jobs and Ad-hoc data loads
Proactively monitor integration performance to ensure highest level of availability
Create and manage documentation describing the SQL and SSIS packages that have been created, and to aid in the DBA code review process
Troubleshoot integration and SQL Server-related issues in the integration environments
Make recommendations based on observations and knowledge of best practices
Qualifications / Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
6+ years relevant experience
In depth SQL Server experience including Database, SSIS and SSRS
Datawarehouse design knowledge and development experience
Experience in multi-phase projects
Working in a team and individually in a project environment
Experience on SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 Management Studio and BI Development environment
Proficient in the development of Stored Procedures, Views and other SQL object development
Experience in Report Development (SQL Reporting Services), SQL Reporting Services distribution and management and SQL Integration Services development
Familiarity with database platforms other than Microsoft SQL Server, e.g. Oracle and DB2 is desirable.
Working knowledge of SQL Server DTS desirable
Knowledge or experience in Real-time integration concepts is an additional benefit
Ability to work all phases of a large scale project, including requirements gathering, documentation, design, development, unit testing and production support
Ability to travel as per business requirements.
Demonstrated project discipline and experience. Must be organized, focused, and driven toward established deliverable dates. Must be able to design solutions and form/drive related plans.
Experience working with large teams, and/or experience of senior developer role preferred
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing is required.
Having been on-site in USA would be an added bonus.
